My goal with this site is simple:  If you experienced incest or childhood sexual abuse, I want you to know that you are not alone.  Please reach out to someone so you can find hope and healing.

It is not your fault.

If you experienced incest or any form of childhood sexual abuse, I want you to know that you can find hope and healing.  It may take time, and it will likely involve hard work. I picked this sailboat picture to remind all of us that -- even though the skies may be cloudy and the seas restless -- the sun will rise and drive away the clouds.  We just have to keep taking one step forward -- and it can be a very small step.


It is not your fault.


Here are some mantras that have helped me get through the hard times:

  • It was not my fault.  I did the best I could.  He was the bad one.
  • I am okay.  He cannot hurt me anymore.  I am okay.
  • Those who truly love me care about what I want, what I think, and what I feel.
  • I am not the bad one.  He is the bad one.  It was not my fault.

Those might not be the right mantras for you; find some that are.
